About Dr. Sarah Schwartzer
Sarah Schwartzer, AuD, CCC-A, F-AAA received her Doctor of Audiology degree from Northwestern University in 2019, having completed her training through various clinical placements including Northwestern Medical System, Tufts University Medical Center, and the Lovell Federal Health Care Center. Dr. Schwartzer is originally from Cleveland, Ohio and received her Bachelor’s from The University of Akron before moving to Chicago.
A well-rounded audiologist, Dr. Schwartzer has a strong diagnostic and hearing aid dispensing background as well as intimate knowledge of vestibular (balance system in the ear) diagnostics and treatment. Her previous position was at Chicago Dizziness and Hearing, the private practice of the Dizzy Doc himself Dr. Timothy Hain as well as neuro-otologist Dr. Marcello Cherchi. She is excited to be back working with hearing aid patients, saying:
“As a musician, I am intimately aware of how important hearing is. A dear friend of mine was in the FDA Pediatric Trials for the cochlear implant. Learning and working with him, as well as many other children and adults with hearing loss, I have truly found my passion to help people. The technology is fascinating, and I love being a part of the journey as patients and their families grow and thrive.”
She is a member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and holds their Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A), as well as a fellow member of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and the Illinois Academy of Audiology (ILAA). She is also a member of the Bárány Society which is an international interdisciplinary society that facilitates contact between the scientists and clinicians involved in vestibular research and practice.
When she is not working, Dr. Schwartzer loves playing with her dog, Gimli (ask her for pictures!), her music (piano, viola, voice), bike riding and reading.
