Hearing Aid Specialist

Alisa came to Hearing Health Center following a career change inspired by her own experience with hearing loss. A graduate of DePaul University, Alisa returned to college in order to obtain licensure as a Hearing Instrument Specialist and Dispenser. To Alisa, hearing loss is personal: her own process of overcoming a mid-life diagnosis of severe tinnitus accompanied by a life-hampering hearing loss created a passion for helping others experience a return to that same sense of normalcy and balance as she has achieved as a proud wearer of hearing aids.

“I understand firsthand the road from hearing loss to hearing health. I get what it’s like to feel left out of conversations and to be too embarrassed to constantly ask people to repeat themselves. But my reluctance to admit to myself that there was something out of my control kept me from getting the help I knew I needed. What a waste of time! Now, my only regret is waiting so long to get hearing aids. They have enhanced every area of my life, and have become almost as natural a part of me as my own ears; they make me who I am. I am so excited to be able to help others take the same journey that I have taken.”

Alisa is a member of the International Hearing Society. When not at Hearing Health Center, she enjoys her time with family (human, feline, canine) and friends. She likes reading, practicing yoga, and taking really long walks. Once a pretty good cook, she has decided that it’s much more enjoyable to let someone else do that and has taken to dining out, ordering in, and using the microwave a lot.

Alisa has been with Hearing Health Center since spring of 2018, and practices in our Naperville office.
