Ali and Meghan, two of our audiology technicians, were very busy last month! At HHC, one of our main goals is to educate the local community about the importance of hearing. We love to visit local events where we can chat with residents, answer hearing-related questions, and even perform hearing screenings! This is what we were up to last month:
The Niles Health Fair was open to the community and offered a number of services, like free flu shots, bone density testing, blood pressure, and dental screenings. We had many people interested in chatting with us about hearing- we led them to a quieter room to talk about if and where/when they are experiencing trouble, and then performed a preliminary baseline screening. We had a great time and met a lot of very interesting people!
This was an event led by Congregation BJBE in Deerfield. There were a lot of booths and participants there, including a blood drive. We offered hearing screenings and checked for wax. We even saw some of our current patients at the event, which was very exciting!
